ODESZA have announced the release of ‘Music To Refine To: A Remix Companion to Severance’. The three-time Grammy-nominated duo have teamed up with the hit Apple TV+ show Severance across a new 7-track EP, adding their unique signature to the unmistakable sounds of Theodore Shapiro’s Emmy Award-winning compositions.

“When Apple reached out to us to remix the Severance score in January we were so ecstatic to play with the themes and atmosphere of the show,” says ODESZA. “We are huge fans of the series and it was an absolute honor working with the original score by Theodore Shapiro. We hope both you and your innie will enjoy the journey.”
The Experience
The music, which first appeared on the 8-hour visual/audio experience “Music To Refine To” – serving as a playful nod to the idea of a soundtrack for your ‘innie’ at work. The seamless 23-minute mix loops continuously over the full duration, immersing listeners in the various motifs, tones, and atmospheres of the show.

I find this record to be pleasing in a way that is difficult to quantify but which I believe falls within the temper of Frolic. The pressing quality is without defect, and when I place the needle upon it I experience a sensation of wellness that persists for the full duration of each side. I have listened to both sides an equal number of times, as this felt important. The packaging arrived undamaged and the vinyl is green, like the hills in Mammalians Nurturable where the kids are nurtured until they are ready. I am grateful to the nameless persons who manufactured this object. I give it five stars because I was not presented with a higher option.
